Alltech India collaborates with Rainbow Home to empower young girls

Global animal health leader Alltech joined the Vidyaranya Kodihalli Rainbow Home (VKH Rainbow Home) in Bangalore in June to support disadvantaged girls.
Founded in 1991, Vidyaranya is a nongovernmental organization that operates 16 centers across the Bangalore and Karnataka state, working to empower marginalized sections of society, and improve the lives of girls, mentally and physically challenged children, women and disadvantaged senior citizens.
The VKH Rainbow Home currently provides for 60 girls from pre-school to high school age, aiming to ensure a safe and happy childhood for vulnerable children on the street and help them access protection, education, adequate nutrition and health care. The girls live at the VKH Rainbow Home and attend government schools nearby. Many are orphans, some rescued from disadvantaged situations across the city.
As part of their commitment to corporate social responsibility, Alltech has provided school bags, textbooks, notebooks, school uniforms, shoes and slippers for all the students and miscellaneous items for the home. In addition to financial support, the Alltech team provided a priceless experience for the children by recently organizing activities including singing and dancing competitions and games and distributing gifts to the children.
“Alltech participates in community activities and social contributions across the globe. We are proud to support this one-of-a-kind project in India that enables girls to have a better education,” said Aman Sayed, general manager, Alltech South Asia and Krishnan Mundanat, regional controller Alltech South Asia.
“We are so grateful for the visit and generosity of Alltech’s team. We wish to have a long term association with the organization over the coming years,” said MC Ramesh, the founder of VKH.
